The Master Plan development is progressing, and work continues behind the scenes.

The tender for stage 1 construction TEN/1961 – Design and Construct Moore Park Beach Community Buildings was sent out for the second time on the 27/5/23 and closed on the 24/6/23 and again there were no conforming tenders submitted to construct the facility. We are investigating all ways to be able to deliver this project.

Bundaberg Regional Council has committed further funding in the 2023/2024 Budget which we adopted last week. This means that Stages 1,2 & 3 of the Master Plan are all fully funded and ready to go as soon as a suitable contractor/s can be engaged, which at the moment, is proving to be very difficult.

Current funds allocated and secured for the Stages 1, 2 & 3 are as follows-

BRC 2022-2023 Budget- $5,593,306.00

State Government (LGGSP Grant)- $2,943,272.00

BRC 2023-2024 Budget $4,400,000.00.

Total funds allocated- $12,936,578.00.

The Stages that are to be delivered from this funding are Stage 1, 2 & 3 which is-

Stage 1 Community Hub/ Community Centre Annex and surrounding area landscaping/upgrades.

Stage 2 Surfside Park Precinct surrounding the New Surf Club facility.

Stage 3 The Playground and Skate Park Precinct upgrades.
