Heales Road, Meadowvale

Great news, Heales Road at Meadowvale will be upgraded this financial year. Funds have been allocated in the 2025-2026 budget and works that are planned to be undertaken will include the following-

• the single lane sealed section of Heales Rd from Mercers Rd to the existing two-lane sealed section is planned for sealing to 6m wide as part of the 2025/26 road rehabilitation contract.

• Existing seal width is approx 3.4 to 3.7m and will be increased to 6m width which is the minimum standard to allow 2 vehicles to pass each other while remaining on the seal.

• The Sealing of two lanes will allow the 80km/hr speed limit to be extended from Mercers Rd to the existing 2 lane sealed section.

• Sealing the two lanes also allows for a dividing line to be marked and this will be done as part of the rehab works.

• The submitted tenders for the road rehab are being assessed now and the contract should be awarded in coming weeks. We don’t have a timing for the work at present, other than to say works will be undertaken this financial year.
