BRC Budget 2025-2026

Today (30 June 2025), Bundaberg Regional Council Adopted the 2025-2026 Budget.
I could not support the Budget in its entirety, and I tried to have the budget amended, by foreshadowing an alternative motion. The Alternative motion that I foreshadowed was that “The new Non-Principal Place of Residence additional Rate charge be removed from this budget.”
Thank you to Cr Bill Trevor, Tracey McPhee Councillor Division 4 Bundaberg Regional Council and Councillor John Learmonth . Bundaberg for supporting my argument and voting with me to try to have this unfair, unequitable & unjust Non-Principal Place of Residence New Rate Charge removed from the budget. I respect that, the majority of Councillor’s supported the recommendation, and we now have an extra new charge in this budget.
